OREM, Utah—Utah Valley University's Tim Fuller and Blaze Nield have been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on Tuesday. The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Fuller, a senior from Gilbert, Arizona, holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as an MBA student. He has played in all 27 of Utah Valley's games this season while making 20 starts. Fuller is averaging 6.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. He has scored in double figures seven times and has tallied three double-doubles. He recently matched a season high with 14 points and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds in a 90-83 win over in-state WAC rival Southern Utah on Feb. 11.
 
Nield, a senior from Lehi, Utah, holds a 3.77 GPA while working on his MBA. He has played in all 27 games for Utah Valley this season, averaging 4.2 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game. He recently scored a season-high 14 points in a 71-55 win over California Baptist on Feb. 8. 
 
Student-athletes are eligible with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games, and are at least a sophomore both athletically and academically. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
