ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley freshman
Daniel Dickinson has been named TicketSmarter WAC Hitter of the Week. It is the first time he has won the award, and he is the second Wolverine to be selected this year.
He hit .588 on the week, going 10-for-17 with nine runs scored while hitting one homer and knocking home four RBIs. The UVU middle infielder finished the week with a .650 on base and a .941 slugging percentage.
"Danny really has sparked our offense since being inserted into the leadoff spot. He plays the game with passion and a killer instinct that I have only seen in a few people. He is a winner, and this award is just a reflection of the player he is," said UVU head coach
Eddie Smith.
On the year, he leads UVU with a .358 batting average and 49 hits. Dickinson has four homers and 22 RBIs and is second on the team in doubles with nine.
