UVSC season ends with loss to No.14 Washington

SEATTLE, Washington – Utah Valley State's first NCAA volleyball season came to an end with a straight-set loss, 30-14, 30-16, 30-16, to No.14 University of Washington in Seattle.

Freshman Alina Wallauer led the Wolverines with 8 kills. Teammates Jenny Weed and Deise Borgetti added 6 and 5 respectively in the losing effort.

While UVSC's offensive balance was good, Washington's was even better. The Huskies' Sanja Tomasevic had a match-high 12 kills. Teammate Brie Hagerty (9), just missed double-figure kills. In all, five Huskies finished with five or more kills to UVSC's three players with five or more kills.

For the match, UVSC hit -.010 to Washington's .330. The deciding factor in the match was hitting errors. UVSC (10-14) finished with 26 errors to just nine by the Huskies.

The second game was UVSC's best as the Wolverines hit .111 while holding Washington (20-8) to its lowest percentage of the match at .222.
