OREM, Utah -- The Utah Valley State volleyball team (1-3) opens play in the Hampton Inn Classic Friday at 5 pm against the University of Missouri (3-0). UVSC then plays two games on Saturday. The first game is against host team Utah (1-2) at noon. The Wolverines close the tourney against Washington State (1-2) at 5 pm.

Kassidy Brotherson has led UVSC in kills three of the team's first four games. Brotherson is joined by Jenny Weed averaging a team-high 2.94 kills per game.

Krystal Peterson has also played well for the Wolverines. She was named to the All-Tournament team for the Bronco Invitational last weekend after pounding out 33 kills in the three-game tourney.

Missouri enters the weekend at 3-0 after sweeping through its own tourney one week ago. The Tigers dropped only one game while winning all three matches.

Utah is led by Senior Kim Turner, who was named to the All-Tournament team in the Sun Devil Classic last weekend. She averaged 4.00 kills per game in which the Utes went 1-2. Utah fell to Arizona State and San Diego in its first two matches and closed the tournament with a victory over Ohio.

Washington State is led by Zanda Bautre (2.82) and Jennifer Todd (2.79) in kills-per-game.
