OREM - Utah Valley State improved to 7-3 in dual meets with wins over Western Wyoming and Colorado School of Mines in a tri-meet hosted by UVSC on Saturday. 

The Wolverines won 13 of their 20 matches while defeating Western Wyoming 24-13 and Colorado School of Mines 28-13. 

Erkin Tadzhimetov, Mitch Morgan, Ivan Bigney, and Darren Cooper led the way for UVSC with all four winning both of their matches on the night. 

Tadzhimetov, ranked No.16 in the NCAA, dominated both of his opponents. It took Tadzhimetov less than three minutes to earn a technical fall over Western Wyoming's Lyle Evans and just 38 seconds to pin Colorado School of Mines' 133-pounder Garrett Eller. 

Neither match was ever in doubt. UVSC led from start to finish against CSM. Against Western Wyoming, the Spartans won the opening match to lead 4-0. But Tadzhimetov started four straight UVSC wins to put the Wolverines up 18-4. Western Wyoming never threatened again. 

For the night, UVSC won two matches by pin, one by technical fall, and two by major decision. 
Western Wyoming defeated Colorado School of Mines 21-17 in a dual sandwiched between UVSC's two matches. 

UVSC wrestles next when they host Adams State College on Friday, January 30, and Northern Colorado on Saturday, January 31.
