OREM, Utah - Robyn Fairbanks scored 32 points and hit 14-of-16 from the field as Utah Valley improved to 10-3 with a 92-67 win over Western State on Friday afternoon.
The junior center recorded her 10th career 30-point game while also recording eight rebounds, three steals and a block as UV hit 56.5% from the field.
Julie McMurray had 17 points for the Wolverines and Sandy Marvin hit 5-of-8 from the field to score 15 points while dishing out four assists.
Fairbanks nailed a three-pointer to give UV a 5-2 lead just over a minute into the contest and the Wolverines led the rest of the way.
Utah Valley took its biggest lead of the first half at 35-22 with 7:05 remaining in the half on a bucket by Marvin.
Western State (8-3) used an 11-2 run to close within four, 37-33, with 2:45 left in the first half before the Wolverines used an 8-2 spurt to go into the break ahead 45-35.
In the second half, Audra Lawson's layup with 15:40 remaining brought the Moutaineers within eight points at 53-45, but that's as close as Western State would come the rest of the way.
The Wolverines used a 27-8 run over the next eight minutes to build a 27 point advantage, 80-53.
Blake Reynolds scored a career-high eight points for UV while Rebekah Peterson also chipped in eight points and Hollie Beaman dished out six assists.
Lawson had 20 points and 15 rebounds for Western State and Taryn Brennan led the Moutaineers with 21 points.
Utah Valley will break for Christmas before returning to action next Saturday afternoon against Portland State at 3:05pm in The McKay Center.
