UV Invades Bayou Country For Clash With Ragin' Cajuns

Jan. 14, 2008

LAFAYETTE, La. - In its fourth road trip in as many games, Utah Valley travels to Lafayette, La. to take on the Sun Belt Conference's Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. (MT) start.

"Louisiana is off to a great start in league play," UV head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They are athletic, deep and have a very balanced scoring attack."

The Wolverines have played three in a row on the road and seven of their last 10 away from the McKay Center. The five-game road trip ends on Saturday with a stop at Cal State Bakersfield.

The Wolverines are looking for their first win on the road trip while Louisiana is looking to put an end to a two-game skid.

UL Lafayette has six players that average seven points or more, led by Elijah Millsap who averages 9.9 points per game. Millsap, who's older brother Paul plays for the Utah Jazz, also leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per game.

Ryan Toolson leads UV averaging 23.1 points per game, good for 11th in the nation and second among NCAA Division I independents.

The game will be carried live on AM 1400 KSTAR with Steve Winn and Stuart Dean filling in for Steve Watts. It can also be heard live and archived at www.WolverineGreen.com.

After Louisiana-Lafayette, the Wolverines will return to Orem for two days before traveling to Bakersfield, Calif. to take on Cal State Bakersfield.
