OREM, Utah - Playing in its second consecutive home game for only the third time this season, Utah Valley will welcome NAIA foe, Johnson and Wales to the McKay Center Saturday at 2:05 p.m. (MT)
The Wolverines (8-13) have won two in a row heading into the contest with the Wildcats. The two teams have played five previous time with UV holding a 5-0 series advantage over JWU.
Utah native Eric Daniels leads the way for the Wildcats as he averages 16.2 points per game.
"This will be the last annual homecoming for Daniels," UV head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "He'll be excited to play in front of friends and family. He's having an outstanding senior year, it will be a challenge for us to contain him."
The Wolverines counter with high scorer Ryan Toolson, who averages 22.9 points per game. Toolson ranks eighth in the nation in scoring and first among NCAA Division I independents.
"Coach (Jeff) Culver has done an outstanding job progressing the Johnson and Wales program from scratch," Hunsaker said. "They are a much improved team over a year ago. Johnson and Wales is a welcome game on our schedule in that they are a non-Division I independent also in need of games in January and February."
The game will be carried live on AM 1400 KSTAR. Live video, audio and stats of the game will be carried on www.WolverineGreen.com.
After Johnson and Wales, the Wolverines will wrap up their three-game homestand as Arkansas State will come to town on Jan. 30.
