Long Road Trip Starts at Troy

Jan. 4, 2008

TROY, Ala. - Utah Valley will go for its second consecutive win as the Wolverines will play their first of five consecutive road games at Troy University. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MT) on Saturday evening.

Troy has been an improving ball club," Utah Valley head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They have been shooting well and getting more accustomed to one another in their transition game."

Troy (7-6) is coming off a 91-88 overtime victory over 9-4 North Texas while the Wolverines (6-9) beat San Francisco, 73-61, on New Year's Eve.

The two teams met Nov. 20 in Orem when UV won, 72-51. After Troy jumped out to a 12-0 lead to begin the game, the Wolverines fought back and outscored the Trojans, 72-39 during the rest of the game.

Utah Valley is led by Ryan Toolson who averages 22.0 points per game. Jordan Brady averages just shy of a double-double with 10.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Troy is led by O'Darien Bassett's 19.5 points per game.

The game will be carried live on AM 1400 KSTAR with Steve Watts calling the play-by-play action.

After Troy, UV will travel to Beaumont, Texas to take on Lamar University Tuesday evening.
