UV Remains on the Road for Game at Lamar

Jan. 7, 2008

BEAUMONT, Texas - Utah Valley will face off against Lamar University as the two teams are set to play each other for the first time Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. (MT)

"Lamar has really improved through their non-conference schedule," Utah Valley head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They have blended their veteran players with their newcomers well. They have been playing very well."

The Cardinals (5-7) have won two of their last three games with their lone defeat during the stretch coming at the hands of Texas Tech. Lamar fell to Texas Tech by just two points. The Cardinals have three players averaging double figures, led by Kenny Dawkins' 15 points per game.

The Wolverines (6-10) will look to pick up their first win on the road since defeating Southern Utah, 91-88 in Cedar City. UV is led by Ryan Toolson's 21.7 points per game.

The game can be heard live on AM 1400 KSTAR with Steve Watts calling the play-by-play action. A live audio stream can also be heard at www.WolverineGreen.com. A link to live stats (Gametracker) can be also be found at WolverineGreen.com.

After the game with Lamar, the Wolverines will travel home before heading back out on the road for weekend roadtrips at Chicago State and at Louisiana Lafayette.
