OREM, Utah -- The Utah Valley University women's volleyball team (4-8) continues its 2008 campaign this week against Chicago State (0-19) at home Tuesday at 7 p.m. MT and Texas-Pan American (3-10) Friday on the road at 6 p.m. MT.
The Wolverines are coming off a two-match home series against Cal State Bakersfield, which they split. Sophomore outside hitter Kayli Broadbent leads the team with 158 kills, and junior middle blocker Kristin Anderson is right behind Broadbent with 111 kills this season. Anderson also leads the team with 61 total blocks on the year. Junior libero Allyce Wilson is the other defensive anchor with an average of 4.49 digs per set and a total of 202 digs on the year.
Chicago State has yet to win a match this season and has only won one set in 19 matches. Shamara Clark, who leads the team with 108 kills in 2008, headlines the nine-player roster.
Senior outside hitter Kellie Phillips leads the offense for the 3-10 UTPA with 127 kills and an average of 3.02 per set this season. The Lady Broncs are currently on a seven-match losing skid and have not won since Sept. 6 at home versus Prairie View A&M.
