OREM, Utah - The 2007 NCAA Division I Independent Volleyball Champions will defend their title at home this weekend as Utah Valley University hosts the 2008 tournament Friday and Saturday.
Vying for the 2008 NCAA Division I Independent Volleyball Championship against the hometown Wolverines will be Cal State Bakersfield, Texas-Pan American, NJIT, and Providence, seeded in that order behind Utah Valley.
The Wolverines split two matches with CSUB and beat UTPA in straight sets in Orem earlier this season. UVU swept CSUB in the championship match in 2007, and the same two teams are scheduled to meet in the final match of the round-robin-play tournament Saturday at 4 p.m.
Each team will play two matches on Friday and two matches on Saturday. The complete schedule can be found on the schedule page.
