Box Score
OREM, Utah - On a near-freezing day, Utah Valley fell to cross-town opponent BYU 22-2 on a windy day at MSTAR Field.
The Cougars were able to capitalize on an advantageous wind and hit 10 home runs on the day on their way to an easy victory. The Wolverines got RBI from Kylee Steadman on a second inning RBI double and Abby Bowcutt when she was hit by a pitch in the same frame.
UV had a great opportunity to cut into a 7-2 deficit in the bottom of the second as the Wolverines had bases loaded with just one out in the inning. BYU's pitcher struck out the final two batters to get out of the jam.
The Wolverines didn't have another serious scoring threat in the final three innings.
BYU was led by Daniela Snow who went 4-for-4 from the plate with five runs scored, three home runs and eight RBI.
Utah Valley will look to get back in the win column when the Wolverines travel to Greeley, Colo. to take on Northern Colorado in four games this Friday and Saturday.
