OREM, Utah - Fresh from back-to-back sweeps at home against North Texas and Idaho State, the Utah Valley University women's volleyball team (2-5) will play at Utah State (1-9) Tuesday and at Washington State (6-4) Friday. Both matches are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Sophomore Kayli Broadbent earned Tournament MVP honors at the LaQuinta Invitational last weekend with her 34 kills and .414 attack percentage between the two matches. Broadbent averages 3.20 kills per set this season.
Leading the way defensively for UVU are junior Kristen Anderson with 1.52 blocks per set and junior Allyce Wilson with 3.88 digs per set.
Utah State recently finished third at the Utah Classic after a three-set loss to Utah and the team's first win of the season in an upset against No. 15 Purdue. Senior Melissa Osterloh leads the Aggies with 3.67 kills and 0.67 blocks per set. Sophomore Katie Astle also averages 1.06 blocks per set.
Washington State has won its last two matches as the Cougars went 2-1 hosting the Cougar Challenge Tournament. Senior Emily Rooney has 99 kills and is hitting .318 on the season. She also averages 0.95 blocks per set. Sophomore Brittany Tillman leads the Cougars at the net with 1.06 blocks per set.
