POCATELLO, Idaho - Utah Valley will conclude its three-match week with a non-conference meeting with Idaho State Saturday at 7 p.m. in Pocatello.
The Wolverines (13-7) beat the Bengals (8-10), 3-1, earlier this season at the Wolverine Invitational. In that match, UVU senior OH Camie Manwill posted a double-double with 10 kills and 16 digs, while junior OH Kayli Broadbent added 17 kills. Sophomore S Chelsea Fa'alogo finished with 29 assists and senior L Allyce Jones added 10 digs.
Utah Valley enters the contest with a win after beating Texas-Pan American in a Great West Conference tilt Thursday night in Orem.
Broadbent leads the Wolverines in kills with 292. She has posted a season-high 23 kills in each of the last three matches. Manwill has 223 kills.
Junior DS Kathleen Stevens leads the team in service aces with 30, while Jones leads in digs with 380 and Fa'alogo leads in assists with 733.
Following the match with Idaho State, the Wolverines travel to Southern Utah on Tuesday before host Great West Conference foe Houston Baptist in their second-to-last home match of the season Friday, Oct. 23.
Pink With A Purpose: The UVU Soccer and Volleyball programs along with the Second Chance Foundation of Utah are raising money to benefit nine-year-old Hannah Laursen, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Portions of the ticket sales, as well as fan donations from the soccer and volleyball games on Oct. 23 will go to benefit Hannah. On Oct. 26, J.R. Richards, lead singer of Dishwalla, will be performing a benefit concert in the UVU Grande Ballroom. For more information click HERE.
