OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley University volleyball team will step out of conference play on Tuesday to host Weber State for an in-state clash at 7 p.m. in the PE Building. The contest will mark UVU's first of three home matches on the week as it will also host Grand Canyon on Thursday and Bakersfield on Saturday.

Tuesday's contest will be televised live locally on UVU TV as well as simulcast online on the WAC Digital Network. Live stats will also be available for Tuesday's matchup by visiting WolverineGreen.com.

"We're excited to be home and looking forward to getting the week started against Weber State," said head coach Sam Atoa. "We're hoping to get a couple of things in sync that we've been working on, but we're anticipating a good crowd and a fun atmosphere on Tuesday night."

The Wolverines will enter Tuesday's contest 8-11 overall and 3-2 in Western Athletic Conference play. UVU split a pair of league games on the road last week as it fell to Missouri-Kansas City in four sets before sweeping Chicago State in the Windy City on Saturday afternoon.

Despite falling to the first-place Kangaroos on Thursday, junior Lauren Bakker led the way with a career-high 19 kills in the contest. She also added 10 more kills in Saturday's sweep at Chicago State along with an impressive .833 attack percentage.

In Saturday's victory at CSU, UVU hit a season-best .420 for the match.

Behind Bakker's strong play for the Wolverines last week, sophomore Macky Treanor too played well as she averaged 4.17 kills per set, a .375 attack percentage and 2.00 digs per set. Freshman Madison Wolford paced UVU at the net with a 1.57 block per set average while senior McKenna Tait secured the back row with an average of 4.67 digs.

Bakker leads Utah Valley on the season in kills (2.87), blocks (1.10) and attack percentage (.361), while Tait tops the squad in digs (4.50) and aces (0.51). Bakker's attack percentage and Tait's ace per set average are also good enough to lead the league. Tait's 0.51 ace per set average also ranks her 12th nationally in that category.

About Weber State
The Wildcats will come to town with a 5-14 overall record and a 2-4 clip in the Big Sky Conference. WSU too split a pair of conference matches last weekend, losing to UVU's former Great West Conference foe North Dakota in straight sets on Friday before topping Northern Colorado in four sets on Saturday. Weber State was picked to finish 11th in the Big Sky this season after tying for 10th last year.

Audrey Biggs leads the way offensively for the Wildcats with an average of 4.19 kills per set, while Taylor Christensen is tops on the squad in hitting percentage (.260) and Megan Thompson paces the team in blocks (1.13).

Tuesday's match will be the 16th all-time meeting between the Wolverines and Weber State. UVU leads the series 9-6 and hasn't lost to WSU since Nov. 4, 2008.

Up Next for the Wolverines
UVU will return to conference play to host Grand Canyon on Thursday 7 p.m. and Bakersfield on Saturday at 1 p.m. Following this week's action, the Wolverines will head to Cedar City to face Southern Utah next Tuesday (Oct. 21) before traveling to Seattle to take on Seattle U a week from Saturday (Oct. 25).
