Women's Soccer Set to Host UTEP and UNLV

Game Notes

OREM, Utah-The Utah Valley University women's soccer team continues play at home this week as the Wolverines host UTEP on Friday at 5 p.m. MT and UNLV on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT. The Wolverines are in the midst of a seven-game home stand at Clyde Field.

Utah Valley is 3-2-1 on the season. After dropping its first two matches of the year on the road, the Wolverines have gone 3-0-1 at home with wins over Baylor, Wyoming and Southern Utah.

Junior forward Kali Stubbs leads the team with three goals. She also has an assist and is the team leader in points with seven. Stubbs also fronts the team with 11 shots on the year. Junior keeper Jessica Duffin is the WAC leader with two shutouts. She holds a 0.64 goals against average as she has allowed only four goals this year.

About UTEP
UTEP is riding a five-game winning streak, its longest since 2009, including a 1-0 mark on the road. Junior Angela Cutaia and sophomore Bri Barreiro have been the top goal producers for the Miners with four and three, respectively. Senior Sarah Dilling has been an anchor for the defense, recording 17 saves on 20 shots faced.

About UNLV
UNLV holds a 3-1-0 record this season but have yet to play a road contest. UNLV will travel to play Utah on Friday before taking on the Wolverines on Sunday. Junior forward Jodi Barber leads the team with two goals while junior midfielder Denali Murnan is the team's assist leader with three. Freshman keeper Jordan Sallee leads the team with 14 saves. Sallee has allowed six goals this season.

Unbeaten at Home
The Wolverines are 3-0-1 at home this season in the friendly confines of Clyde Field. UVU now holds an all-time record of 47-29-7 on the home pitch. Utah Valley is in the midst of a seven-game home stand. The matches against UTEP and UNLV will mark UVU's fifth and sixth consecutive games at Clyde Field.

Spreading the Wealth
Six different Utah Valley players have registered a goal this season and six different players have recorded an assist this year. Nine Wolverines have tallied at least one point.

Stubbs Named WAC Offensive Player of the Week
Kali Stubbs was named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for September 1-7. Stubbs scored the first two of three goals in Utah Valley's shutout against Wyoming last week. Her first goal came in the 25th minute with the left foot from 25 yards out and her second goal was scored in the 63rd minute on a rebound header on a shot by Kasandra Anderson.  During the Wolverine victory Stubbs recorded 3 shots and 2 goals.

Looking Ahead
After its two home games this week, Utah Valley will host UC Riverside on Sept. 19 before traveling to Salt Lake to take on Utah on Sept. 21. The Wolverines open WAC play on Sept. 28 at Seattle U.
