UVU OPENS FOUR-MATCH ROAD SWING MONDAY AT WEBER STATEOREM, Utah – Fresh off of a pair of home Western Athletic Conference victories this weekend, the Utah Valley University volleyball team will open a four-match road stretch at in-state foe Weber State on Monday evening. The contest, which will mark UVU's final non-conference match of the season, will begin at 7 p.m. at WSU's Swenson Gym.
Â
The Wolverines (11-10, 7-2 WAC) will make the short trek to Ogden riding a three-match winning streak and having won six of their last seven matches. Following a four-set win at UT Rio Grande Valley on Oct. 17, UVU took care of business at home this weekend with wins over the defending conference champion Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos (3-1) and Chicago State (3-0).
Â
Sophomore
Lexi Thompson paced the Wolverine offense last week with 21 kills and a 3.50 kills per set average. Thompson was one of three players to finish in double digits in kills for UVU in the win over UMKC with 12. She also recorded a match-high nine in Saturday's sweep over the CSU Cougars.
Â
As a team, the Wolverines outhit, outblocked and outserved both UMKC and Chicago State in the pair of victories last week with respective tallies of .295-157 and .289-.000, 14-11 and 10-4, and 4-3 and 8-3.
Â
Senior

Â
UVU will enter Monday's matchup looking for its first win over a fellow in-state foe on the season, as it previously fell to the then ninth-ranked BYU Cougars at home in straight sets and Utah State in Logan in five.
Â
ABOUT THE OPPOSITIONWeber State will enter Monday's contest with a 5-16 overall record and a 1-9 clip in Big Sky Conference play. The Wildcats have dropped nine straight as they last picked up a victory in their conference opener over Montana on Sept. 23. WSU was picked to take 10th in the Big Sky this season after tying for 11th a year ago with a 3-13 conference mark.
