OREM, Utah—To close out their 2014-15 regular season, the Utah Valley University women's basketball team will host Kansas City on Thursday at 7 p.m. MT and Chicago State on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the PE Building.

The Wolverines (9-17, 3-8 WAC) enter the home stand on a two game losing streak, following heartbreaking losses from WAC leader New Mexico State 67-62 and Texas-Pan American 57-55 last week.

Rhaiah Spooner-Knight leads Utah Valley in scoring averaging 13.5 points per game, with freshman
Mariah Seals close behind with 11.3 points per game.
Karlee Norris leads the Wolverines on the boards bringing down 7.1 per game.

The Kansas City Kangaroos (6-20, 4-7 WAC) come to Orem following a 78-76 defeat from league favorite Bakersfield. The Roos are led by Calli White with 11.6 points per game and Aries Washington with 10.3. On the boards, Kiana Law averages 6.7 per contest.
All-time against the Roos, Kansas City leads 2-1 and won their last contest against Utah Valley 61-58 on Jan. 31 at UMKC.

"I think every team would say this time of year, it's about playing your best basketball. Honestly, in spite of the losses that we've had the last couple weeks, I think we are playing our best basketball," said head coach
Cathy Nixon. Â "This gives us a chance to show that here at home for the last time this season, and hopefully be able to come out with a couple wins. This weekend is important for us. We need to be competitive and playing well and going in the right direction."

Chicago State (4-21, 1-10 WAC) enters the contest on a three game losing streak delivered by Kansas City 77-46, Bakersfield 83-57 and Seattle U 56-49. The Cougars earned their only WAC win over Utah Valley 60-55 earlier this year in Chicago. Paris Williams leads CSU with 11.9 points per game with Layne Murphy close behind with 10.1 points. Murphy also leads the Cougars on the boards with 8.2 per game.

UVU leads the series 9-6 against the Cougars, with CSU claiming the last victory.

The contest against Chicago State will be the last home game for the Wolverines this season, and senior
Megan Smith will be honored for her efforts for Utah Valley.
