Utah Valley continues road play at Seattle U Saturday

SEATTLE, Wash.—The Utah Valley University men's basketball team continues WAC play on Saturday as the team travels to take on Seattle U. The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. (MT) and will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network and ESPN 960 AM radio.
 
Seattle U heads into Saturday night's game with a 10-11 overall record. The team owns a 3-4 mark in WAC play with wins over Texas-Pan American, New Mexico State and Chicago State. After winning three of its first four WAC games, Seattle U has dropped three straight. The Redhawks head into Saturday's game fresh off a 66-64 loss to Grand Canyon at home. The game featured 11 ties and 13 lead changes. SU had a pair of opportunities in the final seconds but could not convert.
 
The Redhawks are led by a pair of senior guards in Isiah Umipig and Jarell Flora. Umipig leads the team in scoring at 17.0 points per game, which ranks third in the WAC. Umipig leads the league in three-point field goals at 3.86 per game. Flora also averages double figures at 14.6 points a contest, ranking him sixth in the conference. Flora ranks second in the league in threes per game at 2.52 a contest.
 
Utah Valley and Seattle U meet on the hardwood for the 10th time Saturday night with the Wolverines holding a 5-4 edge in the all-time series. The two teams split their first-ever WAC series last year with the Wolverines taking a 52-51 win at Key Arena in Seattle and the Redhawks taking a 72-57 win in Orem. UVU won this year's first meeting, taking a 70-52 win in Orem on Jan. 10. The Wolverines have won four of the last five meetings against the Redhawks.
 
Utah Valley enters Saturday night's game with an 8-13 overall record. The team owns a 3-4 WAC record with wins over Seattle U, Texas-Pan American and Chicago State. Utah Valley holds a 3-9 record on the road this year.
 
The Wolverines most recently dropped a 72-69 decision at Bakersfield on Thursday night. Zach Nelson scored a career-high 26 points to lead Utah Valley in the setback. Nelson scored his career-high 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field, including a 4-of-8 clip from long range. He was a perfect 2-for-2 at the charity stripe. Nelson was just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards. He also dished out three assists and recorded a block. Mitch Bruneel and Marcel Davis were also in double figures with 13 points apiece. Bruneel tallied five rebounds, two steals, one assist and a block in the setback. Davis recorded five assists with two rebounds and a steal. Darrious Hamilton matched a career high with six points and set a career high with six rebounds. Utah Valley out-rebounded CSU Bakersfield 32-24 and recorded 14 offensive rebounds in the matchup.
 
Through 21 games this season, Bruneel leads the Wolverines in scoring at 13.0 points per contest and rebounding at 6.3 boards a game. Williams and Nelson also average double figures at 10.6 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Davis fronts the team in assists at 4.10 per game, which leads the WAC. Williams leads the team and league in free throw percentage at an 81.5 percent clip.
 
Saturday's game will tip off at 8 p.m. (MT) and will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network. A radio broadcast will also be available on ESPN 960 AM.
