LUBBOCK, Texas--

Â
Taleigh Williams and
Erin Romero each homered in the bottom of the third inning as Utah Valley scored four runs to take an early 4-1 lead. Texas Tech (9-11) answered with two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to take a 5-4 advantage. The Wolverines tied the game in the bottom of the sixth after
Breezy Roth was hit by a pitch with bases loaded, scoring
Haley Harrison.
Â
"The girls showed tremendous fight in the game this evening," said Utah Valley head coach
Nikki Palmer. "It was exciting to see everyone working together through all seven innings. Jaylen (Watson) was extremely focused and knew her task in that at-bat. It was almost as if the only option was for her to hit the home run."
Â
Watson, who also homered in the loss to UT Arlington earlier in the day, went 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a run.
Â
Kailey Christensen picked up her first win of the season in the circle for the Wolverines. Christensen worked 2.1 innings without allowing a run. She tallied a pair of strikeouts in the win.
