LAS CRUCES—The Utah Valley University women's soccer team wrapped up its road slate with a 2-2 double overtime tie against WAC foe New Mexico State on Sunday at the NMSU Soccer Athletic Complex in Las Cruces, N.M.

Utah Valley (7-6-2, 1-2-1) got on the scoreboard in the 39th minute after Breanna DeWaal played a long ball in the air to Breanna McCarter who headed it to herself to set up a one-on-one matchup with the NMSU keeper. McCarter then fired a shot from 15 yards out through the keeper's legs for the score.

Utah Valley went up 2-0 in the 47th minute as the Wolverines took possession of the ball around NMSU's 18-yard box. McCarter sent a pass through the backline to Adrene Harding who connected on a shot to the near post, marking her first-ever collegiate goal.

New Mexico State (4-10-2, 1-1-2) would rally with two goals in a three-minute span as Holly Abdelkader put the ball into the back of the net in both the 66th minute and the 68th minutes to tie the game, 2-2.

Utah Valley out-shot New Mexico State 18-9. Both teams finished the game with four shots on goal while UVU registered five corner kicks to NMSU's three.

DeWaal led the Wolverines with five shots on the day. McCarter had three shots, including a team-best two on goal. Brooklyn Nielsen played all 110 minutes in goal for UVU, finishing with two saves on the day.
