UTAH VALLEY HOSTS CHICAGO STATE, UTRGV THIS WEEK AT CLYDE FIELD
The Utah Valley University women's soccer team begins a three-game home stand this week with WAC matches at Clyde Field against Chicago State and UMKC. Thursday's match against the Cougars will kickoff at 5:30 p.m., while Saturday's match against the Kangaroos will begin at 7 p.m.

Utah Valley (7-6-2, 1-2-1) snapped a three-match losing streak last week with a 1-0 overtime win at UT Rio Grande Valley and a 2-2 double overtime tie at New Mexico State. After opening WAC play with three of its first four matches on the road, the Wolverines return home to close out the conference season with three straight games at Clyde Field where the team holds a 3-1-1 mark this year.

Alexis Peterson leads the Wolverines with five goals and 10 points this season. Sydney Fitzpatrick has three goals, while Breanna McCarter, Abby Jameson and Taylor Kirk each has two goals on the season. Seven other UVU players have recorded one goal this year. Freshman Breanna DeWaal leads the Wolverines with 48 shots, including a team-best 15 shots on goal. DeWaal and McCarter lead the team with three assists apiece. Nielsen leads the team in the box with a 5-2-2 record with three shutouts. She has 43 saves and owns a .843 save percentage on the season.

As a team, Utah Valley has netted 21 goals while allowing opponents 17. The Wolverines average 15.1 shots a match with a .376 shots on goal percentage. The Wolverines are holding opponents to a 1.13 goals per game average. UVU also holds a 226-171 shots advantage and a 85-60 edge on corner kicks.
 
Thursday's match against Chicago State will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. MT, and will be broadcast live at the WAC Digital Network at www.WACSports.com/Watch. Saturday's match will kickoff at 7 p.m. MT.

ABOUT CHICAGO STATE
Chicago State holds a 1-13-0 overall record this season. The Cougars lone win of the season was a 3-2 victory over St. Xavier back on Aug. 27.  Since defeating St. Xavier, CSU has dropped 11 straight matches. Freshman midfielder Mariela Alba leads the team with three goals. She also has one assist on the year for a team-best seven points. Freshman Taylor Rankin and sophomore Amber Jones each have two goals on the season. Rankin leads the team with 30 shots, including a team-best 21 on goal. Junior Gabby Klemp and sophomore Audra Wisehart have split time in goal this year with Wisehart leading the duo with 77 saves. As a team, Chicago State has scored just nine goals this season while allowing 81. The Cougars allow an average of 5.79 goals per match. Chicago State heads into Thursday's match after dropping a pair of home games last week to CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon.

SERIES HISTORY VS. CHICAGO STATE
Utah Valley and Chicago State meet on the pitch for just the third time on Thursday evening. UVU holds an all-time 2-0-0 record against the Cougars, including a 1-0-0 all-time mark against CSU in Orem. The Wolverines defeated Chicago State 7-1 last season in Chicago.

ABOUT UMKC
UMKC heads into the week with a 5-7-4 overall record. The Kangaroos have opened WAC play with an unbeaten 2-0-2 mark. UMKC has a four-match unbeaten streak dating back to a 2-1 double overtime win at UT Rio Grande Valley. The 'Roos then went 1-0-2 in a three-game home stand that ended with a 3-0 win over CSU Bakersfield on Oct. 16. Sophomore forward Kelsey Mothershead leads the Kangaroo offense with six goals this year. She also has an assist and leads the team in points (13), shots (44), and shots on goal (19). Sophomore keeper Anna Lillig leads UMKC in the box with a 3-7-4 record. She has registered 56 saves while allowing 20 goals this season. The 'Roos have scored 18 goals this season while allowing opponents 21.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UMKC
Utah Valley and UMKC meet on the pitch for the eighth time on Saturday night. UVU holds an all-time 4-3-0 advantage over the Kangaroos. The two teams match up in Orem for the third time with UVU holding an all-time 2-0-0 record over UMKC at Clyde Field. UVU has won two straight over UMKC, including a 2-0 victory in the semifinals of last year's WAC Tournament in Bakersfield, Calif.

UTAH VALLEY'S HOME UNBEATEN STREAK HALTED AT 14 MATCHES
Utah Valley dropped a 1-0 decision to CSU Bakersfield on Oct. 7 in the team's WAC opener at Clyde Field, snapping the Wolverines' 14-match home unbeaten streak. The setback marks Utah Valley's first loss at Clyde Field since falling to Seattle U on Nov. 1, 2014. It also marks just the third loss at Clyde Field over the past three seasons for UVU.

EXTRA TIME
Utah Valley holds a 2-2-2 record in its six overtime matches played this season. Utah Valley has played three straight overtime matches. UVU dropped a 2-1 decision in double overtime at Grand Canyon on Oct. 9, defeated UT Rio Grande Valley 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 14, and tied New Mexico State 2-2 in double overtime on Oct. 16.

HOME SWEET CLYDE FIELD
Despite its Clyde Field unbeaten streak coming to an end at 14 matches on Oct. 7, UVU has enjoyed tremendous success on its home pitch. The Wolverines have lost just three matches at home over the past three seasons, posting an impressive 20-3-4 record. UVU holds an all-time 65-32-10 mark at home since the Wolverines became a Division I member in 2003. UVU went unbeaten at home last season with a 9-0-1 record. The team extended its Clyde Field unbeaten streak to 14 matches with its 2-1 overtime win over Grand Canyon on Sept. 26 before it was halted with a loss to CSU Bakersfield on Oct. 7. The Wolverines ranked 24th (1,074 per game) nationally in attendance at Clyde Field last season. UVU ranks 15th in the nation in attendance after welcoming an average of 1,333 fans through the gates though five home matches this year.

UVU RANKED NO. 10 IN NSCAA TOP-10 WEST REGION POLL
Utah Valley remains in the No. 10 spot in the NSCAA West Region Top-10 poll.  UVU is ranked No. 10 in this past week's poll after going 1-0-1 last week with a 1-0 win at UTRGV and a 2-2 tie at New Mexico State. The Wolverines have been ranked as high as No. 8 in the poll this season.

UTAH VALLEY'S HOLDS SECOND-BEST RPI IN WAC
After debuting at No. 82 in the NCAA's first RPI release of the season on Sept. 19, Utah Valley now holds the No. 138 RPI rating in the country, according to the NCAA. UVU holds the second best RPI in the WAC at 138 behind Seattle U's 123 ranking. UVU is followed by Grand Canyon (190), UMKC (204), CSU Bakersfield (215), UTRGV (294), New Mexico State (298) and Chicago State (330).

UVU IN THE NATIONAL/WAC STATISTICAL RANKINGS
UVU freshman goalkeeper Brooklyn Nielsen holds the highest individual national ranking on the team as she ranks 42nd nationally in goals against average at .714. She also ranks 44th nationally and first in the WAC with an .843 save percentage. The Wolverines lead the WAC with 85 corner kicks this season. UVU also ranks third in the league in shots (227), assists (18), assists per game (1.20), goals allowed (17), goals against average (1.06), and fouls (179).

KIRK AND CALLISTER ENTER ALL-TIME UVU CAREER CHARTS
Senior forward Taylor Kirk ranks in the top-10 in three different all-time UVU career statistical rankings. Kirk is tied for fourth all time with six game-winning goals, just two away from the all-time best mark of eight. Kirk is tied for ninth all-time in career goals with 13 and ranks 10th all-time in points with 35. Sara Callister is 10th all-time in assists with 10.

LOOKING AHEAD
Utah Valley will wrap up conference play at Clyde Field on Oct. 28 against WAC rival Seattle U. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Wolverines will then prep for the WAC Tournament, Nov. 3-6, in Kansas City, Mo.
