With the win, Utah Valley (10-7-2) advances to Friday's semifinal match against top-seeded Seattle U (12-5-1). Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. (MDT). The winner of Friday's match will advance to Sunday's championship game.

"We're happy to be moving on," Utah Valley head coach
Brent Anderson said. "We've extended our season another match and that's important. We talked about that earlier today and the girls were focused and highly motivated. I think we started off pretty well. We got a fairly early goal and stayed organized throughout the first half. I'm very happy with the way our team defended. To allow six total shots and to have zero saves is an accomplishment. I've got to give credit to our team in the way they defended today. They were resilient in defending today and I'm very proud of that."
Â
Weber got the Wolverines on the scoreboard in the 12th minute after
Taylor Kirk settled a deflected ball in the box and shot it towards the goal. Kirk's shot was blocked by a NMSU defender to Weber who then fired a shot with her left foot into the back of the net to give UVU a 1-0 advantage.
Â
Fox recorded her first goal of the season after she sent a shot off her right foot from the top of the box on the left side into the upper right 90 for the score. The 59th minute goal helped secure the 2-0 UVU win.

Utah Valley recorded 21 shots on the day, including 10 on goal. The UVU defense did not allow New Mexico State a shot on goal. The Wolverines gave up only six shots by the Aggies. Weber led UVU with six shots, including a team-best two on goal.
Â
Brooklyn Nielsen picked up her fourth complete shutout of the season in goal as she improved to 7-3-2 on the year.
