BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—
Jaden Jackson scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Utah Valley University men's basketball team in a 91-69 setback at Western Athletic Conference foe CSU Bakersfield Saturday night at the Icardo Center.
 
The Wolverines fall to 10-15 overall on the season and 4-6 in WAC play. CSU Bakersfield moves to 18-7 overall and 8-2 in league play.
 
Utah Valley took a 17-12 lead just five minutes into the game, but CSU Bakersfield rallied with an 8-0 run to take a lead it would never give up again as the Roadrunners continued to extend their lead throughout the remainder of the contest.
 
Jackson scored his 20 points on a 7-of-11 clip from the field. He knocked down 6-of-7 shots at the free throw line. The performance is Jackson's fifth 20-plus point scoring effort of the season.
 
Hayden Schenck and 
Marcel Davis were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Schenck knocked down 4-of-7 shots from the field, including a shot from long range. He also tallied six rebounds and a pair of assists. Davis recorded six rebounds and six assists to go along with his 10 points.
 
Darrious Hamilton registered nine points with six rebounds on the night. Hamilton hit 4-of-5 shots from the field and recorded six rebounds with one assist and a block.
 
Kevin Mays led CSU Bakersfield with 17 points. Aly Ahmed helped with 15 points, while Matt Smith added 11.
 
As a team, Utah Valley shot 36.4 percent (24-of-66) from the field compared to CSU Bakersfield's 48.3 percent (29-of-60) clip. The Wolverines connected on 5-of-26 shots from three-point range, while CSUB hit just 2-of-11 shots from long range.
 
The loss at CSU Bakersfield marks the final contest of a three-game road stretch for Utah Valley, which now returns home to host Chicago State and UMKC next week. UVU will host CSU on Thursday before welcoming UMKC on Saturday at the UCCU Center.
