WOLVERINES HOST HUSKIES IN PIVOTAL MATCH
Utah Valley University begins its four-game stretch to end the WAC regular season on Thursday night in a crucial match against Houston Baptist University. The game kicks at 7 p.m. MT and will air live on the WAC Digital Network.
The Wolverines (4-8-2, 1-3-2) enter the weekend with five points in conference play while the Huskies (5-6-2, 2-4-0) and UMKC both sit one point in front of UVU with six points. UMKC and HBU are tied for seventh with the Wolverines currently in ninth. The top seven teams qualify for the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas, which begins Nov. 8.
SERIES HISTORY
The Wolverines are 2-1-0 all-time against Houston Baptist, affiliate members of the WAC in men's soccer. Last season, UVU got a goal in the 80th minute from Donnett Sackie for the game-winner. This is the fourth meeting all-time and the third time the teams will meet at Clyde Field.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley snapped its losing skid with a win and a draw last weekend. The Wolverines got a late goal from Paul Hoffmeister for a 2-1 win over UMKC on Thursday. Hoffmeister scored the equalizer two days later in what eventually ended in a 1-1 draw with No. 12 Air Force. The two goals earned Hoffmeister the WAC Offensive Player of the Week.
ABOUT HOUSTON BAPTIST
Houston Baptist split two home matches last week, defeating CSU Bakersfield, 2-1, before dropping a 1-0 contest to San José State on Sunday. The Huskies other win in WAC play came in a 3-1 triumph over UMKC on Oct. 5 in Houston. Five different players have two goals apiece for HBU, including Dominick Faletto, who also team-highs of five assists and nine points.
COMING UP
The Wolverines hit the road next week for a two-game swing that takes them to UNLV on Oct. 27 and at Grand Canyon on Oct. 29. The regular season wraps up on Nov. 4 at home against WAC-leading and No. 25 Seattle University.
