UVU HITS ROAD FOR TWO IN TEXAS
Needing to get into the win colum in WAC play, Utah Valley University travels to Texas for a pair of league games. The Wolverines (3-6-1, 0-1-1) face Incarnate Word on Friday night at 6 p.m. MT before traveling to UT Rio Grande Valley for a Sunday afternoon match, slated for 1 p.m. MT. Both matches air live on the WAC Digital Network.

SERIES HISTORY
The Wolverines are 1-0-2 against Incarnate Word all-time and 2-0-0 vs UTRGV. Last season, Utah Valley and UIW played to a 2-2 draw in San Antonio and topped the Vaqueros, 1-0, in Orem. 

MAAS ON IMPORTANCE OF ROAD TRIP
"I'll make this crystal clear — this weekend's matches in Texas are massive," UVU head coach Greg Maas said. "Our training and match performances have been excellent. We're destined for a break-out performance, and experience has proven, the ball will soon begin to bounce Utah Valley's way."

LAST TIME OUT
Alec Felix scored his first career goal last Friday in the WAC opener against San José State but the Spartans got a late equalizer in forcing a 1-1 draw. The Wolverines then traveled to CSU Bakersfield, where they fell 1-0, with the game's only goal coming on a controversial penalty kick call just one minute into the second half. 

ABOUT INCARNATE WORD
Incarnate Word (2-6-1, 0-2-0) dropped its first two WAC contests over the weekend, losing a heartbreaker at No. 13 Air Force, 2-1 in overtime, and a 1-0 decision at Kansas City. Friday's match is just the second home game of the season for the Cardinals. In the first and only home contest, UIW fell to WAC foe Houston Baptist in a non-conference match, 1-0. The Cardinals host No. 23 Seattle U on Sunday. 

ABOUT UT RIO GRANDE VALLEY
Like Incarnate Word, UT Rio Grande Valley dropped both legs of its road trip to Kansas City and Air Force. The Vaqueros (3-4-1, 0-2-0) lost 3-2 to the 'Roos on Friday and 1-0 at Air Force on Sunday. UTRGV also hosts Seattle U on Friday night.

COMING UP
Utah Valley returns home next week to host Kansas City on Thursday, Oct. 12  at 5 p.m. MT and Air Force on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. Both matches are part of doubleheaders with UVU women's soccer.
