SEATTLE, Wash. – Utah Valley junior center Sam Lubcke recorded a double-double in her return to the court, but Utah Valley women's basketball fell to Seattle U, 65-55, in the regular season finale Saturday at the Connolly Complex.

Lubcke, who sat out of UVU's (8-21, 3-11 WAC) past four contests with an injury, scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds to finish with her WAC-leading ninth double-double on the year in the setback. However, the Redhawks countered Lubcke's effort, with 21 points from the league's second leading scorer Alexis Montgomery to pull away in a game that featured 13 ties and nine lead changes.

Junior guard Mariah Seals rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Wolverines with 11 points and a game-high three three-pointers (3-of-8 3-pt FG) on the night. Sophomore Britta Hall and freshman Keana Delos Santos each added a bucket from beyond the arc also to help Utah Valley to an advantage in made three-pointers over Seattle U.

For the game, the Wolverines outrebounded the Redhawks 38-34 behind Lubcke's 10th double-digit rebounding night and seven boards a piece from Seals and Taylor Gordon. The WAC's top rebounder in the regular season, Lubcke also pulled down two offensive boards to come within four rebounds of setting UVU's single season offensive rebounds record.

Trailing by four with 2:30 remaining in the first half, the Wolverines used a 6-2 run on a pair of three-pointers from Delos Santos and Seals to even the score at 24-24 entering the halftime break.

UVU then took a seven-point lead at 31-24 in the first two-minutes, 12 seconds of the third quarter after extending that burst to 13-2. Jordan Holland sparked the hot second-start for the Wolverines on a layup and foul following a steal by Seals, while an offensive board from Gordon led to Seals adding her second basket from three-point range six seconds later.

Seattle U then found its touch to end the quarter shooting 53.8 percent (7-of-13 FG) from the field to snatch a two-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Montgomery guided the Redhawk charge with six points in the period as she went 3-of-4, including a basket to end Utah Valley's quarter-opening surge and another that cut the UVU lead to two at 34-32.

The Wolverines kept fighting to break even with the Redhawks three more times in the final frame before Seattle U closed the contests on a 14-4 run.
