Also as part of the weekend, Northern Illinois will play two neutral matches against the same two opponents. The Huskies face Omaha on Friday at 4 p.m. MT and Sac State on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. MT.

SERIES HISTORY
Sacramento State won the only prior meeting between the Wolverines and Hornets, edging UVU 3-2 during the 2016 season. UVU and Omaha are meeting for the first time.

MAAS ON THIS WEEKEND'S ACTION
"We're coming off of two very good results on the road and the boys are motivated to carry that momentum into this weekend's matches," UVU head coach Greg Maas said. "Sac State and Omaha are two highly regarded programs, the players are focused, and are all looking forward to returning to Clyde Field and our 12th Wolverines on Homecoming weekend."

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines swept a two-match trip to Southern California, shutting out both Cal State Fullerton, 2-0, and San Diego State, 1-0. The wins gave UVU the championship of the Courtyard Marriott San Diego Central Tournament with Gui Leme (offensive) and Elliiott Rubio (defensive) capturing MVP honors.

Leme scored the game-winning goals in both matches while assisting on the second goal against Cal State Fullerton, scored by Paul Hoffmeister. Rubio registered two clean sheets and saved a career-best seven shots at Fullerton. He also had three saves against San Diego State.

Leme was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week and also earned a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week. He's the second Wolverine to receive that honor so far this season.

ABOUT SACRAMENTO STATE
Sacramento State (2-3-0) split two home games last week, falling 2-0 to San Diego before a 2-1 win over Loyola Marymount. The Hornets, the third of three Big West foes for Utah Valley this season, have a pair of wins over WAC programs, with an overtime win over CSU Bakersfield (1-0) and a 2-0 shutout at San José State.

ABOUT OMAHA
Omaha (6-0-0) comes into Orem as the highest-ranked opponent ever to face the Wolverines on Clyde Field. The Mavericks are ranked No. 9 by TopDrawerSoccer.com and No. 10 by the United Soccer Coaches. Emmanuel Hamzat and Jacob Weiler swept the Summit League's Player of the Week honors this week after wins over UC Riverside and Bradley. Omaha's pre-conference schedule includes a 5-1 win over then-No. 17 Virginia Tech, and three wins over WAC men's soccer schools Grand Canyon (2-1), Houston Baptist (1-0) and UTRGV (1-0). The Mavericks have only allowed three goals all season.

COMING UP
Utah Valley heads to the Pacific Northwest next week with road contests at Washington (Sept. 21) and at Gonzaga (Sept. 24).
