PIVOTAL TWO-GAME ROAD TRIP FOR UVU
After closing out its home schedule last weekend, Utah Valley University will play the final three WAC regular season contests on the road beginning with a two-game trip that starts Friday at Grand Canyon University at 8 p.m. MT. The Wolverines (9-6-0, 6-2-0) will end the trip at UNLV on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MT.
UVU is currently tied for second, with UTRGV, in the WAC standings. UVU, UTRGV, and league-leading Air Force have all secured berths in the WAC Tournament, which begins Nov. 7 in Seattle.
"Having already clinched a spot in the WAC Tournament with three games remaining allows the boys to both play relaxed, and enjoy our time together on the road," UVU head coach Greg Maas said. "Nevertheless, this team's competitive nature and determination is strong, and they're up to the challenge we face with three difficult matches on the road in our pursuit of another WAC regular season championship."

The Wolverines close out the WAC regular season next Saturday, Nov. 3 at No. 8 Air Force. The Falcons play at UNLV on Friday and at GCU on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley split two matches over the weekend, topping Seattle U, 2-0, before San José State came from behind to edge the Wolverines, 2-1. Against the Redhawks, UVU earned the landmark win -- its first over Seattle -- with goals from Samuel Krommenhoek and Blake Frischknecht while Joseph Wheelwright notched his fifth shutout of the season.
Against the Spartans, Zahir Vazquez scored a first-half goal but SJSU answered with two in the second half and then held off a flurry of Wolverine near-equalizers in the waning minutes of the match.
WINNING PERCENTAGE, NOT POINTS
The game between Grand Canyon and Houston Baptist on Oct. 19 was in the 62' when lightning delays, and eventually an unplayable field, forced the game to be canceled and ruled no contest. The game will not be made up and the result forces the WAC standings to go to winning percentage and not points, due to the imbalance in games played.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Grand Canyon enters the weekend at 6-8-0 overall and 3-4-0 in WAC play. The Lopes are currently in seventh place in the standings, with the top seven qualifying for the tournament. GCU also hosts No. 8 Air Force on Sunday. The Lopes have lost two straight with the cancelled contest at HBU sandwiched in between.
UNLV, which hosts Air Force Friday night, is right behind UVU and UTRGV, in fourth place, tied with San José State. The Rebels have won three straight including two one-nil road wins last week at UMKC and Houston Baptist.
