UTAH VALLEY CONTINUES ROAD SWING AT SAINT MARY'S ON SUNDAY NIGHT
Utah Valley continues road play against WCC foe Saint Mary's on Sunday evening in Moraga, Calif. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. (MST). The game at Saint Mary's on Sunday marks the second game of a five-game road swing for the Wolverines.

Ben Nakwaasah added 10 points in a 75-65 setback at crosstown rival BYU on Saturday night.
Baylee Steele grabbed a school-record 19 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds. Utah Valley took a 26-25 lead into halftime and held onto a 1-point, 54-53, lead with 7:16 left to play. BYU responded with an 8-0 run to jump out to a lead they would not relinquish.

Steele's 19 boards breaks the previous single game UVU mark of 18 set by Jon Bell at Florida Gulf Coast on March 5, 2004. Geddes Robinson tied the 18-rebound mark on Jan. 28, 2012 against NJIT. The record stood for 14 years before Steele broke it on Nov. 9, 2018 at BYU.

ABOUT SAINT MARY'S
Saint Mary's opened the season with an 87-65 win over McNeese Sate on Wednesday night at McKeon Pavilion.
Junior guard Jordan Ford paced the SMC offense with a team-high 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field while leading the team with five assists. Redshirt sophomore forward Malik Fitts earned a double-double off the bench with 19 points and 12 boards while Elijah Thomas also reached double-digit scoring with 12 points on four made triples in his first career start. Saint Mary's recorded 40 points off the bench and 38 points in the paint. Saint Mary's lost five of its players from last season's 30-win team. The team has finished first or second in 10 of the past 11 seasons in the WCC.
SERIES HISTORY VS. SMC
Utah Valley and Saint Mary's meet on the basketball hardwood for just the second time on Sunday night. The Gaels hold an all-time 1-0 advantage in the series as the Gaels defeated the Wolverines, 65-50, back on Dec. 28, 2015 in Moraga.

Utah Valley dug itself a quick hole to open the game, falling behind 22-4 halfway through the first period. The Wolverines shot a season-low 20 percent (6-of-30) in the first half as the Gaels took a 33-17 lead into the break.

The Wolverines came out firing in the second half as the team opened the period with a 10-4 run to cut the SMC lead to just 10 points, 37-27, with 17:41 remaining. Saint Mary's responded a 13-2 lead to secure a 54-31 advantage with 9:52 to play.

UVU was able to limit SMC to just one field goal over the final 8:34 and got as close as 10 points, 60-50, with 1:11 to play. The Gaels then went finished the game on a 5-0 run, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line over the final minute to secure the 65-60 victory.

Jackson tallied his 16 points on a 6-of-13 shooting performance. The senior guard knocked down 2-of-3 shots from long range and hit 2-of-2 shots at the free throw line. He also dished out three assists and pulled down one rebound in 35 minutes of play.

Alex Carr led UVU on the boards with seven rebounds to go along with six points, one assist and a block. Utah Valley connected on 27.4 percent of its shots from the field while Saint Mary's recorded a 42.4 percent clip. The Wolverines held the Gaels to just 11.8 percent (2-of-17) shooting from three-point range. Entering Monday's game, SMC led the nation in three-point field goal percentage with a 47.3 percent clip. UVU DROPS 75-65 DECISION AT BYU
The Utah Valley Wolverines lost a hard-fought 75-65 game on the road against in-state rival BYU Friday night in the Marriot Center. The Wolverines raced out to an 11-4 lead at the 14:36 mark before BYU used an 8-0 run to regain the lead. The two teams battle back and forth and Utah Valley took a 26-25 lead into the half by winning the rebounding battle 28-24, including 10-3 on the offensive glass. The Wolverines held the Cougars without a field goal for the final 5:02 of the first half.

The Cougars took an early lead in the second half with a 7-0 run to take a 32-28 lead. Another 10-2 run by BYU at 11:55 extended their lead to 46-37 but the Wolverines responded with a 12-5 run to tie the game up at 49-49 apiece. After the teams went back and forth an 8-0 serge by BYU gave the Cougars the lead for good and they held on for the win.
Utah Valley finished 25 of 75 from the field, including 6 of 23 from three. The Wolverines held the edge in offensive rebounds 16-9 but were outrebounded 47-46.

UVU HOLDS NATIONS'S THIRD-BEST ACTIVE HOME WIN STREAK IN THE NATION
Utah Valley won a school-record 16 games at home last season, finishing the 2017-18 campaign with a school-record 16-1 record at home, surpassing the previous record of 14-1 set by the 2006-07 team. Utah Valley is currently tied for the third-longest active home win streak in the nation at 15 games. The Wolverines look to extend their win streak against North Dakota on Nov. 24.
