THE WEEK THAT WAS
UVU had a busy opening week with three games in five days. The Wolverines opened the season against UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 6, a 63-54 win. The 54 points allowed are the fewest a UVU team has allowed in a season-opening win in the school's NCAA DI era. UVU also defeated the University of La Verne, 86-79, on Thursday before a 65-60 loss to Portland on Saturday.Â
ABOUT THE SPIRIT
Ottawa is a second-year athletic program and members of the National Christian College Athletic Association located in Surprise, Arizona. The Spirit won their first three games of the season, two in dominating fashion, and have three players in double figures led by Alexis Smith's 16.7 ppg. Bailey Osmer is scoring 15.3 points and grabbing 8.0 rebounds so far. Saturday's game will be an exhibition for Ottawa.Â
SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday will the first regular season meeting for UVU against Ottawa. The two played an exhibition contest -- for both teams -- prior to the 2017-18 season.Â
