OREM—The Utah Valley University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Kansas City in the semifinals of the WAC Women's Soccer Tournament on Friday night at Clyde Field.
Â
The Wolverines wrap up their season with a 5-14-2 overall record, while UMKC improves to 16-4-0 and secures a trip to the WAC Tournament championship match against Seattle U on Sunday.
Â
"First of all, I want to let our seniors know how much we appreciate everything they have given to our program," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "These seniors have represented our team and the university with the highest standards. They are terrific young women and we certainly wish them the very best moving forward. I'm proud of how our team played tonight. They left it all out there on the field. They gave everything they had. UMKC is obviously a very nice team but we had all sorts of chances with balls flying off the crossbar and against the post. We definitely created good opportunities. If we didn't have bad luck tonight, we wouldn't have had any luck at all."
