Wolverines host Weber State Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Lockhart

Jordan Holland was named WAC Player of the Week on Monday

OPENING TIP

  • Utah Valley University returns home after four straight on the road to host Weber State on Tuesday at 11 a.m. MT in Lockhart Arena. 
  • Jordan Holland was named the WAC Player of the Week on Monday after scoring a career-high 24 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double in Saturday's contest at Utah State.
  • The Wolverines are 6-7 all-time against the in-state Wildcats and have lost three in a row in the series. 
  • Weber State will end a run of UVU facing all five Utah Division I schools in a six-game span. The Wolverines have lost five straight overall and all four against in-state programs, three of which have come on the road. 
  • Holland leads Utah Valley at 12.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Freshman Eve Braslis is averaging 10.2 points and junior Alexis Cortez is scoring 10.0 per contest. 
     

LAST TIME OUT
Despite Holland's career effort,  UVU's late rally fell short in a 67-62 loss at Utah State University on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines trailed by 16 points with 7:09 remaining and held the Aggies scoreless for over six minutes during an 11-0 run to get within five with under a minute to go. Utah State would hit all four of their attempts from the line in the final minute to hold on.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Weber State is 3-5 on the season following a 77-56 loss at Utah on Saturday. Jaimoni Welch-Coleman scored 21 points for the Wildcats and leads the team with an average of 16.1 points per game. Kayla Watkins is scoring 14.3 points and pulling down a team-high 9.1 rebounds per contest. 

UP NEXT
The Wolverines will wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule on Saturday against UC Riverside at 11 a.m. MT in the UCCU Center. UVU will play its final non-conference game on Dec. 29 at Cal State Fullerton before opening WAC play Jan. 3 vs Grand Canyon at home.
