OPENING TIP
- Utah Valley University will play its second Big Sky Conference program in a row when the Wolverines travel to Pocatello, Idaho to face Idaho State University on Thursday at 7 p.m. MT in Reed Gymnasium.Â
- The Wolverines are in the midst of four straight road contests with Thursday's game the number three on the list. UVU wraps up the road swing next Saturday, Dec. 15 at Utah State.Â
- Idaho State has a 9-5 edge in the all-time series and has won four straight over Utah Valley. The Wolverines are 1-5 all-time in Pocatello.Â
- Jordan Holland leads the team with averages off 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game with Eve Braslis right behind at 11.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines suffered a 60-59 loss in a nail-biter at Southern Utah on Tuesday. The Wolverines led from early in the the second quarter until SUU got the game-winning 3-pointer with just over two minutes to play. Sophia Jacobsson scored 11 to lead UVU for the second straight game while Va'e Malufau had a career-high 10 points.
ABOUT THE BENGALS
Idaho State is coming off of an 88-51 win over Benedictine on Nov. 29 and is 3-4 on the season. Leading scorer Estefania Ors had a game-high 22 points and is averaging 12.3 points per game. Grace Kenyon is at 11. 7 points and 6.4 rebounds, and Saylair Grandon is averaging 10.7 ppg. In last season's game in Orem, Kenyon had a triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists as the Bengals won in Lockhart Arena, 70-58. ISU had the extremely rare feat of recording 27 assists on 27 made field goals.Â
UP NEXT
The Wolverines will have most of next week off for finals before making the short trip to Logan for the game at Utah State on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. MT. Following that contest Utah Valley will wrap up the pre-Christmas schedule with home games against Weber State (Dec. 18) and UC Riverside (Dec. 22). Â
