Saturday’s softball series finale vs. GCU washed out

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University softball's series finale against WAC foe Grand Canyon has officially been cancelled due to rain and will not be made up.

The contest was scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Wolverine Softball Field, but due to heavy rain in the Orem area the ballgame was washed out.

With the cancellation, the two WAC foes finish the weekend series with a 1-1 split. Behind a complete-game outing from Addie Jensen, the Wolverines took game one on Friday, 5-3, before dropping Friday's nightcap to the preseason WAC favorite Antelopes by a score of 4-1.

With the 1-1 outing, the Wolverines improve to 10-21 overall and 2-3 in WAC play, while GCU improves to 21-20 overall and 2-3 in league play as well.

The Wolverines will now conclude a five-game homestand by hosting neighboring foe BYU on Tuesday, April 10 for a UCCU Crosstown Clash at 3 p.m. Following the contest, UVU will return to WAC play April 13-14 for a three-game league series at UMKC.
