- Jordan Holland's game-winner as time expired gave the Wolverines (10-7, 4-0) their second straight road win and fourth straight overall as they continued their best start in WAC play with a 57-55 win on Thursday night at UT Rio Grande Valley. The four straight wins also matches the team's longest conference winning streak since joining the WAC in 2013.Â
- Holland, who returns to her home state for Saturday's game, continues to lead the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game while Eve Braslis is averaging 10.6 points and a team-high 6.5 rebounds. Alexis Cortez, a two-time WAC Player of the Week, is averaging 10.1 points per game.
- New Mexico State (11-6, 3-1) leads the all-time series against Utah Valley, 11-2 and has won nine in a row over the Wolverines. UVU is 1-9 against the Aggies in WAC competition with the lone win coming in Las Cruces in 2014. Last season, NM State secured a 10-point win in Orem and a 59-51 win in Las Cruces.Â

Jordan Holland's layup hit the back iron and dropped through as time expired and Utah Valley University remained unbeaten in WAC play with a 57-55 win at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on Thursday night. Holland, who scored eight of her game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter, took a lob from Alexis Cortez into the paint and got it to drop. Cortez finished with 17 points on 6-for-10 from the floor including four 3-pointers. Josie Williams added 10 points while Holland grabbed eight rebounds and nabbed five steals, and Maria Carvalho dished out six assists.
ABOUT THE AGGIES
New Mexico State has won four of five including a 20-point win over Seattle U on Thursday night at home in the Pan American Center. Reigning WAC Player of the Year, Brooke Salas, scored 21 points and is averaging 18.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game so far this season. Gia Pack is scoring 13.6 points for the Aggies, who are in search of their fifth straight WAC regular season title. NM State makes the return trip to Orem on Thursday, Feb. 14.Â
