UVU travels to play Chicago State, Kansas City

UTAH VALLEY TRAVELS TO PLAY WAC FOES CHICAGO STATE, KANSAS CITY
Utah Valley heads out on the road this week to take on Chicago State and Kansas City on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Friday's game will kickoff at 11 a.m. (MT), while Sunday's match will begin at noon (MT).

UVU picked up a pair of shutout wins last week, defeating New Mexico State (1-0) and California Baptist (2-0). Amber Tripp scored the game winner against NM State, while Nicole Olanda and Amanda Mangelson found the back of the net against CBU, breaking the Lancers' seven-match win streak.

Carter leads the team with six goals and 12 points this season. Carter ranks second on the team with 27 shots, including a team-best 21 on frame. She also fronts the team with four game winners. Amber Tripp has four goals and 10 points, while Jenna Shepherd has three. Jocelyn Bybee, Breanna DeWaal, Heather Stainbrook, and Mangelson each have one. Allie Jara leads the team in the box with 1125 minutes played. She has a team-best 39 saves and holds a .736 save percentage.  She also holds a 1.12 goals allowed per game average and has four shutouts.

CARTER LEADS THE NATION IN SHOT ACCURACY, TRIPP RANKS 19TH
Utah Valley sophomore forward Julianna Carter leads the entire nation in shot accuracy with a .778 mark. She also ranks 14th in the country with four game-winning goals. She also ranks 99th nationally in shots on goal per game (1.50) and 127th in the nation in total goals (6). Amber Tripp ranks 19th in the nation in shot accuracy at .643. As a team, UVU ranks 77th in the nation in shot accuracy at .503.

UTAH VALLEY HOLDS WAC'S BEST RPI RANKING
Utah Valley holds the best RPI in the Western Athletic Conference at 114. The Wolverines are followed by Kansas City (123), Seattle U (157), UT Rio Grande Valley (166), California Baptist (192), CSU Bakersfield (213), Grand Canyon (261), New Mexico State (292), and Chicago State (330).

CLYDE FIELD MAGIC, UVU RANKS SIXTH NATIONALLY IN ATTENDANCE
Utah Valley holds an impressive 80-38-11 all time record at Clyde Field. The team has lost just seven matches over the past five seasons on the home pitch. UVU suffered its first losing record at home in 2018, going 3-4-1. UVU went 5-1-0 in 2017,  5-2-1 during the 2016 season and were unbeaten at home during the 2015 season with a 9-0-1 mark. The Wolverines are a 4-1-1 at home this season. UVU ranks sixth in the nation in attendance this season as the Wolverines average 1,592 fans per game at Clyde Field.

ABOUT CHICAGO STATE
Chicago State enters Friday's matchup against Utah Valley with a 0-14-0 overall record and a 0-3-0 WAC mark. The Cougars have not won a game since defeating Saint Xavier on Aug. 25, 2017. The team most recently dropped WAC matches at California Baptist and UTRGV last week. Barbara Castellanos has scored three of the team's four goals this season. Julia Oliveira found the back of the net for CSU's only other score this year. Chicago State has allowed 48 goals this season. Judith Sorribes has played 12 of CSU's 14 games in the box. She has an impressive 103 saves.

SERIES HISTORY VS. CHICAGO STATE
Utah Valley and Chicago State will meet on the pitch for the sixth time on Friday. The Wolverines have never lost to the Cougars as the team owns a 5-0-0 all-time series lead. Friday will mark the third time that UVU has played CSU in the Windy City where the Wolverines own a 2-0-0 advantage. UVU has only given up one goal over the five games in the series and the Wolverines hold an all-time 28-1 scoring advantage in the series.

ABOUT KANSAS CITY
Kansas City enters Sunday's match against Utah Valley with an 8-3-4 overall record. The 'Roos had won three straight before opening WAC play, but have since gone 0-2-2 in league play. Kansas City tied both UTRGV and Seattle U at home before taking road losses at Grand Canyon and CSU Bakersfield. Rylan Childers has scored nine of Kansas City's 15 goals this season. Hallie Hamilton and Lindsey Prokop each have three goals, while Carly Janike has two. The 'Roos have scored 22 goals while allowing 14. Erin Roth has played 11 of Kansas City's 15 games in goal. She has 34 saves and has allowed 12 goals.

SERIES HISTORY VS. KANSAS CITY
Utah Valley and Kansas City will meet on the pitch for the 12th time on Sunday. Kansas City leads the all-time series 6-5-0. The 'Roos took a 1-0 win during regular season play in Orem last season before defeating the Wolverines 3-0 in the semifinals of the WAC Tournament in Orem. Kansas City owns a 2-1-0 record against UVU in games played in KC. The 'Roos have won three straight matches against UVU. Utah Valley's last win over Kansas City was a 6-2 victory in Orem on Oct. 22, 2016.
