OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University women's basketball ran past Western Colorado, 68-37, in an exhibition contest on Saturday afternoon at the UCCU Center. It's the lone exhibition contest of the preseason for the Wolverines.

Utah Valley limited Western Colorado to 19.6 percent (11-56) from the field as the lead stretched to as much as 32 in the fourth quarter.

The Wolverines held the Mountaineers to just 10 points in the first half and used a 12-0 run in the second quarter to pull away. After Western Colorado scored on its first possession of the second quarter, Utah Valley didn't allow another field goal in the half. The Wolverines led 28-10 at the break.

UVU opens the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at UC Santa Barbara before the home opener on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. MT against Southern Utah in Lockhart Arena.
