OREM—Trey Woodbury scored a game-high 18 points and Isaiah White recorded a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double to lead Utah Valley to a 59-42 win over the College of Idaho on Friday night in an exhibition game at Lockhart Arena.
 
The game was a final tune-up for the Wolverines before the team officially opens the 2019-20 season on Tuesday night against Westminster at the UCCU Center.
 
After playing to a 5-5 tie through the first eight minutes of play, the College of Idaho went on a small 6-2 run to take an 11-7 lead. The Wolverines responded with a 16-3 run over the final 7:29 to take a 26-18 lead into the break. UVU held the Yotes without a field goal for nearly seven minutes during the run.
 
Utah Valley kept things going in the second half as White bookended a 16-4 UVU run with a slam at the 18:07 mark and a layup with 11:54 to play as UVU took a 20-point, 44-24 lead with 11:38 to play. UVU held on to the lead to secure the 59-42 win.
 
Woodbury scored his 18 points on a 7-for-11 clip from the field, including a 2-of-3 mark from long range. He also tallied a pair of rebounds and a block. White scored his 14 points on five shots from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 mark from the charity stripe.  
 
Brandon Morley also scored in double figures with 14 points to go along with six rebounds. The senior center was a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor and knocked down 6-of-7 free throws.
 
Utah Valley shot 37 percent from the field while limiting the Yotes to 27 percent shooting. The Wolverines forced the Yotes into 18 turnovers on the night. UVU outrebounded C of I, 48-38.
 
Utah Valley will officially open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Westminster at the UCCU Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
