OREM, Utah - Utah Valley is set to host the first-ever Western Athletic Conference volleyball tournament in the Lockhart Arena, this weekend November 21-23, as six teams seek the conference title. From the WAC, Grand Canyon, Kansas City, New Mexico State, Seattle U and UT Rio Grande Valley will be in attendance for the weekend competition, alongside Utah Valley.

The standings for the 2019 conference tournament include New Mexico State on top with an unblemished 16-0 record, followed by No. 2 Grand Canyon at 13-3, a 12-4 record for Kansas City in third place, UT Rio Grande Valley in the No. 4 spot at an even 8-8 record, Utah Valley as No. 5 at 7-9 and lastly Seattle U in sixth at 4-12.

Last year, Utah Valley entered the 2018 WAC tournament as the #5 seed and faced a first-round matchup against CSU Bakersfield. The match went to five sets with the Wolverines on top to advance. UVU then met UT Rio Grande Valley and swept in three to head to the WAC championship against New Mexico State. UVU was bested by NMSU in four sets, but Utah Valley still landed a spot in their first-ever post season appearance at the NIVC. In the postseason, UVU was victorious in their first contest against Wyoming, 3-2. Utah Valley's season ended in a final five-set competition against Portland and the Wolverines closed 2018 with a record of 20-14, 9-7 in conference.
