Utah Valley hosts Kansas City on Saturday night

UTAH VALLEY HOSTS KANSAS CITY ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT UCCU CENTER

Utah Valley continues play at home on Saturday night as the Wolverines welcome Kansas City to the UCCU Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (MT)

Saturday night's game against UMKC will be 'Night for Autism' and 'African Diaspora Night' at the UCCU Center. The Night for Autism is a collaborative event between UVU Athletics, the Melissa Nellesen Center for Autism, and private donors. The game will give families the opportunity to have a free night out in an autism friendly environment. The Presidential South Suite will be turned into  an autism friendly getaway. African Diaspora Night is a collaborative event between UVU Athletics and UVU's African Diaspora Initiative. Black History Month will be celebrated  with cultural performances and special t-shirts. Numerous dignitaries will be in attendance, including Reverend France Davis, who participated in the Civil Rights Movement and marched from Selma to Montgomery with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Utah Valley won a school-record 22 straight games at home dating from a win over UTSA on Nov. 29, 2017 to a win over UTRGV on Jan. 17, 2019.  The previous UVU home win streak record was 17 games, which was set from the 2004-05 season to the 2005-06 season. UVU holds an impressive 25-2 record at home over the last two seasons. Utah Valley holds an all-time 177-47 (79 percent) record in 13 seasons at the UCCU Center. The Wolverines are averaging 13.6 wins a season on their home hardwood. UVU finished play at home last season with a school-record 16-1 record. The team holds an 9-1 record at home this season.

Jake Toolson scored a game-high 25 points and Richard Harward recorded a career-high 19-point, 16-rebound double-double to lead Utah Valley to a 103-71 win over Chicago State on Thursday night at the UCCU Center. Utah Valley shot 16-for-27 from beyond the arc—the second most threes in single game UVU history.  Jake Toolson led the barrage with six threes with Conner Toolson and Isaiah White knocking down three shots apiece.

Conner Toolson knocked down a shot from long range with 14:38 remaining in the second half against Sam Houston State on Dec. 22 to lift his career point total to 1,002 points as he became just the eighth player in UVU history to score 1,000 career points. Toolson scored 18 points on the night to up his career total to 1,007. He is now fifth on the all-time scoring list with 1,102 points.

Utah Valley holds one of the top shooting percentages in the country as the Wolverines rank 14th nationally in field-goal percentage with a 48.9 percent clip from the floor. UVU also ranks 22nd in the country in three-point field goal percentage at 38.6 percent.

Jake Toolson leads Utah Valley in scoring at 16.5 points per game, followed by Conner Toolson at 12.5 points a contest. The Toolson duo has scored nearly 40 percent of UVU's points this season. Jake has been impressive from the floor, shooting a team-best 56.3 percent (148-of-263), including a team-best 47.8 percent (54-of-113) clip from three-point range. He also leads UVU with an 85.7 percent (78-of-91) clip from the free throw line. Baylee Steele leads UVU on the boards, pulling down 7.0 rebounds a game, while TJ Washington leads the team in assists at 4.1 a game.

BROADCAST INFORMATION
Saturday night's game against Kansas City will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network, which is available at WACsports.com/watch. UVU has also entered into a new partnership with KSLtv. The KSLtv app will be streaming all home UVU men's basketball games live. The game will also be streamed live through the GoUVU YouTube channel, and on the GoUVU Facebook page. Brandon Crow and Holton Hunsaker will be on the call. The game will also be broadcast over the radio waves as Jim McCulloch enters his ninth season as the voice of the Wolverines. Josh Kallunki will be handling the color commentary duties on the radio. The radio broadcast will be aired live on ESPN 960AM radio. A live stream of the radio broadcast will also be available at ESPN960Sports.com.

ABOUT KANSAS CITY
UMKC enters Saturday's matchup at Utah Valley with a 10-17 overall record and a 5-7 mark in WAC play. The Kangaroos have won two of their last three games, including victories over Grand Canyon and CSU Bakersfield last week at home. UMKC is looking for its first WAC road win of the season. The Roos, despite a six-point halftime lead, fell at Seattle U on Thursday by a 69-64 score. The Roos had three shots from long range to tie or take the lead with under 30 seconds left in the contest, but were unable to connect as Seattle U picked up the home victory. Brandon Suggs led UMKC, as the sophomore posted career-highs of 11 points and 13 rebounds for his first career double-double. Xavier Bishop, meanwhile, paced the Roos in scoring with 14 points, while Jamel Allen was the final Kangaroo in double figures with 13 points.  Bishop leads the team in scoring at 15.4 points per game. Rob Whitfield and Brandon McKissic also average double figures at 11.2 and 10.6 points per game, respectively. The 'Roos average 69.9 points per game while allowing opponents a 73.3 points per game average.

SERIES HISTORY VS. KANSAS CITY
Utah Valley and Kansas City meet up on the basketball hardwood for the 19th time on Saturday night. UVU holds a 11-8 all-time advantage in the series dating back to 2005. The two teams split the two-game WAC series last year with each team winning on its home floor. The Wolverines defeated the Roos in game one of the two-game series in Kansas City, 75-67, on Jan. 24. UVU is the only WAC team to defeat UMKC in Kansas City this season. The Wolverines hold an all-time 7-2 record against UMKC in games played at the UCCU Center. UMKC's last win in Orem came on Jan. 31, 2015 when the Roos took a 66-59 victory.
