TAMPA, Fla. – Utah Valley dropped a 66-57 decision to South Florida in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational on Monday night at the Yuengling Center. Utah Valley finishes its season with a school-record 25-10 record, while the Bulls improve to 21-13 on the year and advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

Utah Valley set numerous records this season, including points scored, field goals made, field goal percentage, and games played. The 25 wins this year also tops the record set during last year's campaign.

The Wolverines took an early 13-12 lead before South Florida used a 7-0 run to take a 19-13 lead with 11:39 to go in the opening half. Both teams battled back and forth, with the lead never being more than six points. Utah Valley used a 7-0 run of their own, led by Isaiah White, to bring them to within one going into the half.

Utah Valley used another 7-0 run to retake the lead, 39-37, with 14:48 to go in the game. The Bulls then knocked down seven threes as part of a 25-7 run to take a 64-46 lead to seize control of the game. The Wolverines finished the game on an 11-2 run but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.

The Wolverines shot 42.1 percent from the floor and were held to a season-low three made free throws. UVU outrebounded the Bulls 36-35 and outscored USF  36-30 in the paint.

Senior Ben Nakwaasah led the Wolverines with 12 points in his final collegiate game, knocking down three shots from downtown. Richard Harward and Connor MacDougall chipped in 10 points apiece while White led the UVU with nine rebounds. TJ Washington dished out a team-high eight assists.
