OPENING TIP
- Utah Valley University travels to Phoenix to take on Grand Canyon University on Thursday at 6 p.m. MT. The game begins a two-game road trip to wrap up the WAC regular season that ends Saturday at CSU Bakersfield.
- The Wolverines (14-13, 8-6) enter the week tied for fourth in the WAC standings with CSUB. California Baptist (10-4), who is not eligible for the WAC Tournament due to is reclassification to Division I, is currently second. UTRGVÂ (10-5) is third and Kansas City (8-7) sits just behind UVU and CSUB.
- UVU can reach as high as the No. 2 seed and drop to as low as the No. 5 depending on this weekend's results. On Thursday, UTRGV plays at CBU and CSUB hosts Seattle U. UMKC hosts Chicago State on Saturday and New Mexico State is the top seed after winning its fifth straight regular season title.Â
- Jordan Holland is averaging 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Wolverines and has scored in double figures in 18 straight games. Eve Braslis is scoring 10.6 points and grabbing and 5.9 rebounds, Alexis Cortez is scoring 10.0 per game and Maria Carvalho is averaging 7.3 points and 4.3 assists per game.Â
- UVU defeated Grand Canyon, 57-46, when the teams opened the WAC season on Jan. 3 in Orem. Braslis had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Wolverines. Utah Valley is seeking its first win in Phoenix, entering Thursday's game at 0-5 in GCU Arena.Â

Utah Valley University fell in the final home game of the regular season, 92-74, to California Baptist University in Lockhart Arena on Saturday. Jordan Holland pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds and also scored 10 points for her second consecutive double-double. Eve Braslis led the Wolverines (14-13, 8-6) with 14 points and Maria Carvalho added 11.
ABOUT THE LOPES
Grand Canyon is coming off of a pair of road losses in its last two road contests, falling at California Baptist on Feb. 21 and at CSU Bakersfield on March 2. The Lopes will close out the regular season on Saturday against Seattle U. ShaRon Miller leads the way with 10.0 points per game while AJ Cephas is scoring 9.9 per contest. GCU will be the No. 6 seed in next week's WAC Tournament in Las Vegas.Â
