PROVO, Utah – Utah Valley University dropped a midweek contest at BYU on Tuesday, 9-1, in non-conference NCAA softball action.
The Cougars scored three times in the fifth to end the game early.
Skylar Cook went 2-for-3 for the Wolverines (12-23), who got their run in the fifth inning when a ball off the bat of
Brianna Moeller was dropped in left.
BYU finished with 11 hits, two each from Rylee Jensen an Emilee Erickson. The Cougars homered three times in the game, including Jensen's lead-off home run in the bottom of the first to start a three-run inning.
Utah Valley will return to WAC play this weekend with a three-game series at California Baptist beginning with a Friday doubleheader at 6 p.m. MT. The series concludes on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT. On Monday, the Wolverines will welcome No. 3 Washington to Wolverines Field at 11 a.m. MT.
