Jake Toolson has earned a spot on The Associated Press All-America list, garnering Honorable Mention honors. Toolson becomes just the second player in program history to receive the honor.

The All-America honor adds to an impressive list of accomplishments from this past season for Toolson, which also includes All-District First Team, WAC Player of the Year, and First Team All-WAC honors.

The junior guard averaged 15.7 points, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game last season. He ranked second in the WAC in three-point field goal percentage (44.8), third in free throw percentage (85.1), and fifth in field goal percentage (53.7).

Toolson shot 44.8 percent from long range this past season, connecting on an impressive 69-of-154 shots from deep. The mark is the second-best single season three-point percentage in UVU history. His 548 points this past season are the fifth most in program history. He ranks third all-time at UVU with a career 41.6 percent three-point career mark. He shot an impressive 84.9 percent (180-of-212) from the free throw line this season. He tied a school record with 41 straight made free throws.

Toolson recorded a pair of perfect shooting performances this season. He knocked down a perfect 8-of-8 shots from the field, including a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range, along with a perfect 2-of-2 shots from the free throw line as he scored 20 points in an 87-72 win over Long Beach State in the championship game of the MGM Main Event in Las Vegas on Nov. 21. Toolson also connected on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field, including a 2-of-2 mark from long range. He also hit a perfect 6-of-6 shots at the free throw line as he finished with 20 points in an 85-79 win over Sam Houston State on Dec. 22.

Toolson is just the second player to receive All-America honors in UVU history. Isiah Williams received All-America Honorable Mention honors following the 2010-11 season.
