OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University men's soccer is well-represented in the in the USL League Two soccer league this summer with 20 current or former players participating while goalkeeper
Joseph Wheelwright will train with L.D.U. Quito in Ecuador.

"There's no better substitute for player development than the experience gained from playing meaningful matches," said UVU head coach Greg Maas. "The USL League Two will provide our players an opportunity to grow on many levels and will help to fast-track our team's maturity in preparation for this coming fall season with UVU men's soccer."

Ahmed Longmire recently signed on to join Seattle Sounders U23 team while five current Wolverines are playing with the newly-formed Park City Red Wolves:
Kaleb Augat,
Paytin Ayau,
Conner Dearden,
Luis Vargas and
Caleb Wight.
Jose Bencomo also just signed on to play for the Colorado Pride Switchbacks in his home state.Â

Ogden City SC also has five current UVU players on its roster:
Aaron Caprio,
Blake Frischknecht,
Mitch Jensen,
Zach Maas and
Zahir Vazquez. Caprio, Jensen and Maas have all previously played for OCSC.

Former associate head coach Matt Ellinger is coaching the Virginia Beach United and has eight players with UVU ties including current players
Aidan Dayton,
Alec Felix and
Luis Garza. Felix was listed as one of the Top 100 Players to Watch in the USL League Two this season.

Also playing for Ellinger, who completed his first season as head coach of Davis & Elkins College last fall, are recent graduates Joe Barakat,
Blake Leonetti and
Diego Serna, as well as former Wolverines Donnett Sackie and Gui Leme, who now attend New Hampshire and Midwestern State, respectively.
