UVU hosts San Diego on Friday morning at Clyde Field

UTAH VALLEY SET TO HOST SAN DIEGO, TRAVEL TO UNLV
Utah Valley looks to reset after a hard-fought 1-0 setback to No. 7 BYU on Monday night at Clyde Field. The Wolverines continue play at home on Friday against San Diego before traveling south to Las Vegas to take on UNLV on Sunday. Friday's match will kickoff early at 11 a.m., while Sunday's match at UNLV will begin at 5 p.m. (MT).

Utah Valley gave its crosstown rival all it could handle on Monday night, holding No. 10 Brigham Young scoreless through nearly 64 minutes of play before falling to the Cougars, 1-0, in front of a record crowd of 3,952 fans at Clyde Field. It marked the first time this season that the Wolverines have dropped a home match, falling to 3-1-0 at Clyde Field this year.

Through eight matches this season, Tripp leads the team in goals with three and in points with eight. She is tied with Carter for the team lead in shots with 13. Carter fronts the team with 11 shots on goal, followed by Tripp with 10. Carter also fronts the team with two game winners. Carter has two goals, while Breanna DeWaal has one. Allie Jara leads the team in the box with 490 minutes played. She has a team-best 32 saves.

IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Utah Valley senior goalkeeper Allie Jara ranks 40th in the nation in saves per game. Sadie Brockbank and Brianna Hatch each rank tied for 25th nationally in yellow cards with two apiece. The Wolverines ranks 26th nationally in yellow cards as a team. 

CLYDE FIELD MAGIC
Utah Valley holds an impressive 77-39-11 all time record at Clyde Field. The team has lost just seven matches over the past five seasons on the home pitch. UVU suffered its first losing record at home in 2018, going 3-4-1. UVU went 5-1-0 in 2017,  5-2-1 during the 2016 season and were unbeaten at home during the 2015 season with a 9-0-1 mark. The Wolverines are a perfect 2-0 at home this season. UVU has consistently ranked in the top-40 nationally in attendance.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO
San Diego heads into Friday morning's match against Utah Valley with a 4-3-0 record. The team is wrapping up non-conference play on a road trip to Utah with games scheduled at UVU on Friday and at Utah on Sunday. The Toreros most recently knocked off crosstown rival San Diego State, 1-0, before falling to CSUN, 1-0, in Northridge.  Senior midfielder Milan Moses scored the game-winning goal against SDSU. Moses leads the team in goals this season with four and in points with eight. Senior keeper Amber Michel leads the team in the box with 20 saves and an impressive 0.86 goals allowed per game average. 

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY VS. SAN DIEGO
Utah Valley and San Diego meet up on the pitch for just the second time on Friday morning. The two teams first met last season in San Diego with the Toreros taking a 4-1 win. Friday's match marks the first-ever game between the two teams in Orem.

ABOUT UNLV
UNLV enters the week with a 2-4-0 record. The Rebels have lost three straight, all to nationally-ranked opponents. UNLV dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 12 Texas A&M last week. The team will host Northern Arizona on Friday before welcoming the Wolverines on Sunday. UNLV's last win came on Sept. 1 in a 2-1 win at CSU Bakersfield. Senior midfielder Katie Ballou and senior forward McKenna Sullivan each have one. Sophomore keeper Emberly Sevilla leads the team in goal with 20 saves and a 2.56 goals allowed per game average. She holds a .645 save percentage. Sunday's game against UVU wraps up non-league play for the Rebels, who will begin Mountain West play at home against Utah State on Friday.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY VS. UNLV
Utah Valley will take on UNLV for the eighth time in school history on Sunday. UNLV holds a 4-2-1 advantage in the series. The two teams played to a 1-1 double overtime draw last season in Orem. The Rebels had won two straight over the Wolverines prior to last season's tie. UVU's last win in the series was a 1-0 overtime victory in Orem on Sept. 14, 2014.
