UTAH VALLEY WRAPS UP NON-LEAGUE PLAY AGAINST NORTH DAKOTA STATE
Utah Valley will wrap up its non-conference slate against Summit League foe North Dakota State on Saturday night at Clyde Field. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. MT

The Wolverines return home after picking up their first road win of the season in a 3-0 shutout at UNLV.  Julianna Carter recorded a brace to lead UVU to the 3-0 shutout road win over UNLV on Sunday. Carter put the Wolverines on the scoreboard in just the seventh minute of the game as she put in a shot off a UVU corner kick. Jocelyn Bybee scored her first collegiate goal as she gave the Wolverines a 2-0 advantage in the 51st minute. Bybee charged the keeper in the six and was able to deflect the ball right into the back of the net for the score

Carter secured her brace after Breanna DeWaal kicked a corner into the box where Jenna Shepherd headed it toward the goal. The ball bounced off the post back toward the center of the goal where Carter fired it in with her left foot for the goal in the 69th minute. Shepherd was credited with the assist on the score. Carter's two goals on Sunday are her team-leading fourth and fifth of the season.

Allie Jara played 75 minutes to pick up her second shutout of the season. She tallied four saves on the night. Saydee Bacdad played the final 15 minutes in the box.

Carter, a sophomore forward from Jasper, Texas, scored three goals on the week, including the game-winner on the road at UNLV. She recorded her first brace of the season as she netted a second goal against the Runnin' Rebels. Carter was also responsible for the equalizer that led to a 1-1 tie against San Diego. With her three goals, Carter ranks second amongst goal-scorers in the conference.

Shepherd, a redshirt freshman defender from American Fork, Utah, was the centerpiece for a Wolverine defense that held No. 10 BYU to just one goal. Shepherd and her teammates held MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List player Elise Flake to just two shots and no goals. The young defender also helped UVU limit San Diego to just one goal in a 1-1 double overtime tie. In the Wolverine's third game of the week, Shepherd anchored the defense in a 3-0 shutout victory over UNLV. Shepherd also managed to assist fellow player of the week, Julianna Carter, on her second goal against UNLV.
