ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT: California Baptist hosts the 10th annual the Joust at Golf Creek, Feb. 24-25. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at Goose Creek Golf Club in Jurupa Valley, Calif. The Joust will be a tournament like no other, as three champions will be crowned after the round on Feb. 25. An individual medalist will be awarded, a team champion will be awarded, and then an All-Five Team Champion will be crowned. Most tournaments allow five golfers to compete, with only four counting scores going towards the team score. The third champion will have to count all five player scores to see who will be crowned the All-Five Team Champion.
GOOSE CREEK GOLF CLUB:Â Goose Creek will play as a par-70 for all three rounds, with day one measuring out to 6,839 yards and day two coming to 6,728 yards. The club is a scenic, parkland style golf course that offers golfers of all skill levels an unforgettable challenge. Nestled into the Hidden Valley Wildlife Area and meandering along the Santa Ana River, this beautifully manicured course is a golfer's golf course. The greens are fast with a great layout and conditions that offer a challenging par 71 course along a demanding 6,556 yards. It's no wonder why Goose Creek Golf Club has been chosen to host many pro qualifying events throughout the years. Whether you're an advance golfer or a novice, play where the pros play.
Â
LAST TIME OUT:Â Senior golfer
Gabe Lysen shot a final round score of 1-under-par 71 on Feb. 11 to finish in a tie for seventh with a two-round score of even par 144 (73-71) in the 88-player field at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah.
